Of late, I have been subscribed to an interesting food channel on YouTube called
RecipeWars. The concept is simple: two chefs head to head, best recipe wins.
Only they don’t really win anything it is for funsies. What you do get is two enthusiastic chefs trying out two recipes
(largely from famous US chefs) whilst providing some rather good commentary about the ingredients and what works well.
Whilst I would prefer a slightly broader scope in recipe sources - such as those from international chefs - I have
enjoyed watching the channel and continue to do so.
I recently had to rename a lot of files in directory as well as fix a broken USB drive. I reckon I’ll need to use this
again at some point so here are the tips. Both for me and for you!
The day starts early since we have a seven hour drive to Kruger from Johannesburg. For the first part I mostly sleep
whilst drooling over Anne-Marie because my mouth was hanging open.
Week two and I’ll just keep things brief. As we move through the Western Cape into the Eastern and then up into the
Northern Cape the Internet availability at hotels and restaurants gets sparser and sparser.
Writing in the style of Dr Seuss was difficult and challenging. I don’t think I’ll do that again. Instead I’ll try a
telegram.
Table Top mountain from the north side STOP Quick coffee on the beach STOP Penguin colony at Betty’s Bay STOP Sean met
his cousins STOP Got on famously STOP
My last blog post aimed to be in the style of American Psycho. Reading it back to myself it sounds more like Alan
Partridge. So I will try something different this time. I will write this on the style of Dr Seuss.
We’re on holiday in South Africa for two weeks during which I’ll try and write a few blog posts about the experience in
the style of Patrick Bateman from Bret Easton Ellis’ American Psycho.
This past month I’ve been trying out a new exercise routine. It involves high intensity interval training and more
weights than I would normally do. The idea is to stimulate my body to have a higher proportion of lean muscle than fat.
So far it has worked well! Muscle seems to burn off a lot more excess weight whilst I’m not at the gym than long
distance running that I used to do.
