I started off last year with a blog post and then got side tracked. And then throughout the year I got side tracked some
more. And then, well……… I sort of was on a roll with getting side tracked and decided to not post any recipes,
geeky updates, random blog thoughts for the entire year. Well we started a new year this week and I’d like to make
amends!
A good friend of mine, Nick, is organising the construction of a bicycle
seat on route 18 of the Cycle Network to complete the work started by his mother, Catha. You can read more about it on
the Catha’s Seat website.
Inspired by our Italian friend Fran, I’m going to share a nice way to restock your olive oil. It is just regular olive
oil but with a kick of chilli! Goes great over pasta and fish but you can use it where ever you would use olive oil. It
is also very easy to make. The longer you leave it in the cupboard the better it gets.
I recently bought a new camera to play with (Fuji
X-E1) from the long standing high street retailer in
the UK, Currys. I bought the accessories (a camera bag, a lens, memory cards, and a spare battery) from the online
retailer Amazon. I vowed never to use one of them again. Ever.
Another long break between blog posts. Mostly out of laziness but also because I am trying to learn and teach myself
Android programming. Here’s a short post about how I’m getting along.
Back on the cake making! This time with a sugar filled coffee cake that is easy peasy to make. I would leave this for
special occasions since the ingredients are rather rich and on the excessive side. Makes for a great cake!
Sorry about the blurry picture. It was so yummy we couldn’t wait to eat it!
I used to cook something similar to this whilst at university. It lasts at least two meals even with these measures and
there is enough left over for a tasty sandwich too! It was so tasty, in fact, that I used to finish most of it in one.
That’s probably why went up a trouser size!
Lemon drizzle cake is something that I have wanted to bake for a while but have never got around to doing. I’m glad that
I gave it a go because it is one of the simplest things to make and very tasty!
Here’s a nice, filling and tasty starter that could easily substitute as a main. A different take on the tomato
bruschetta starter. We modified this from a BBC recipe
that we cooked for Valentine’s Day. It’s veggie friendly too!!
