A combination of a 64 bit build of Ubuntu, 9.04, 64 bit flash and an absurd naming of Firefox 3.5 have driven me to
install a 32 build of Firefox onto my 64 bit machine. It means I can run flash 32 natively and without glitches and that
my internet bank now recognises Firefox 3.5 instead of Shiretoko which it blocks access to.
Today I have taken a whole day off work to drink with the west country folk in their hovel of ale and cider and country
folk music. Big beers, even bigger girls and about a thousand drunkards. Love it.
Friday saw us visit the Kensington Roof Gardens for a friends birthday. Fantastic place as usual. I think we made the
right call by getting completely wasted before we went in because drinks were fantastically expensive.
I don’t remember how we all got home such was the brilliance of the night. I’m a bit out of it today though, as you can
probably tell.
I’ve just finished reading my first book in a year! For the last year I have been encaptivated and excited in a child
like trance by comics and graphic novel that I’ve come to love and yearn to dive deeper into a world of geekdom.
Today I went to see the new Sacha Baron Cohen film, Bruno. Being a massive fan of Ali G and Borat, I had high hopes for
this one. Sadly it was disappointing on all levels.
I’ve just seen Public Enemies with Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and that French chick Marion Cotillard. So so film.
Nothing to shout about. In typical Michael Mann style it takes way too long to build up to a rather disappointing
conclusion which was made worse by the fact that you already know that the crook was going to get caught.
Wednesday was fantastic! I saw two childhood favourite bands, Nine Inch Nails (for the first time) and Jane’s Addiction
(for the second time but the first with the original line up).
